How to create RAID logs in Asana

Want to manage your RISKS from multiple projects in one place? 
Create a simple RAID Log in ASANA! 


Firstly, you’ll want to create a section in all your projects or project templates for your risks to be listed as tasks. This means when inside the project itself, you can easily find the risks associated with that project.


Secondly, you want to create a project for all your RISKS across your projects to ‘home’ into. When doing this, think about your custom fields in this project. You can use a single select custom field for Impact, Likelihood etc and put your grading in there as options. This will be useful when you need to pull reports on how many risks you have that are highly likely, for example. You could have sections in this project to keep it tidy, such as the project titles themselves or one for RISKS, one for ASSUMPTIONS, one for ISSUES etc


Lastly, use a rule on the RISK section you have created in your projects/template to automatically multi-home into your RAID log project. The trigger is when a task is moved to that section; the action is + to a project (choosing the option to add to a project and not move). This also means that the task will stay in its original project and show in the RAID log project; any updates on that Risk/Task will show on either side (because it is the same task, just in two places and not a duplication). You can add to the rule that it will be home to a specific section within the RAID log to keep it neat and tidy. Additionally, the task itself will inherit the custom fields from the RAID log project when you click on the task itself, rather than you having to add them to the initial project (but you can if you wish to!)


This approach is straightforward but an excellent start for anyone new to RAID logs.
